E 0.9.0a is identical to E 0.8.37f except for its declared version number. Since this is major version number change, they also differ regarding the default syntax which applies to E code that does not declare its major version. In other words, E code should start with a declaration of the form pragma.syntax("0.9") declaring which version of E it attempts to conform to. For E code without such a declaration, the 0.8 rules used to apply. Starting with this release, the 0.9 rules apply. See also Declaring E version in programs and Need pragma.syntax/1 support. |
